It started with a bra that didn't exist
Le Journal Intime Singapore was never part of a plan. There was no feasibility study and no investor deck. There was a PhD in economics, a career spent analysing markets, and one very personal problem.
For more than five years Mariam had worn the same bra from a brand she trusted, one that let her move through Singapore's heat without a second thought. Then she had her baby. Her body changed, and suddenly nothing in Asia fitted. Maternity bras, nursing bras, anything in her new size: what she found was poor quality, poor fit, and the quiet expectation that women should simply make do.
So on a trip home, she filled a suitcase with the bras she knew and brought them back to Singapore. Not as stock. Just for herself.
Then the women around her noticed
Friends asked about them. They tried them on. They didn't want to give them back. Conversation after conversation told the same story: the wrong size, wires that left marks, fabrics that clung by noon, and the belief that comfort and beauty are a trade-off.
The response came first from friends, then from fairs, then from the boutique fair where Le Journal Intime Singapore officially launched. Women weren't just buying bras. They were exhaling. "I didn't know it could feel like this."
That was the moment it became a business: not because of a market opportunity, but because of a need that was real, personal and shared.
What we believe
A woman should never have to choose between comfort and beauty. The bra should be chosen for her body and her life, not the other way around. Size is a guide, not a cage, and every woman has her own perfect fit, worth the time it takes to find.
What sits against your skin for twelve hours a day deserves care. That is why our bras are wire-free, made from a light, open mesh that breathes in Singapore's humidity, and fitted personally, at Sentosa Cove or in your own home.
From her own wardrobe
Mariam doesn't have one favourite. She chooses by the moment, the way her clients do: NADIN for evenings and slim dresses, when the silhouette matters; VIVIEN for every day, and for sport, because the best lingerie is the kind you forget you're wearing.
This collection wasn't built from a catalogue. It was built from a wardrobe: tested, worn, trusted, and then shared.
